When Ofsted visited in January 2008 they were impressed by the good behaviour and positive attitudes to school, work and each other that the children at Yorkmead displayed. These remain a high priority for us.
However, Ofsted raised some important areas that the school needed to improve:
- Raise standards in English and Maths across all year groups
- Improve leadership and management of the school
- Improve the quality of teaching
- Improve marking and assessment
All members of staff are working closely with Colmore Infant and Colmore Junior school which are national support schools, to ensure that the necessary improvements are made.
We believe that our greatest responsibility is to make sure that all our pupils receive the very best education that we can provide.

Since January we have had several inspections by the local authority and by HMI. They have noticed huge improvements in the work of the school and the education we provide. The HMI reports are published on the OFSTED website
