Please send your child to school in clothes that are suitable for play and easy for them to manage themselves. Yorkmead has a school uniform and we encourage all parents to purchase items of clothing in the school colours – navy, pale blue, white and grey. School sweatshirts with the school logo are available for purchase. All clothes need to be clearly marked with the child’s name,so that they don’t get mixed up, or lost. Shoes that are easy to fasten, such as those with Velcro and clothes with elasticised waists, help your child to feel independent when they change for PE or go to the toilet. Jewellery should not be worn in school, as it can be dangerous and may get lost. In cold weather, children will need warm coats, hats and gloves or mittens, so that they can enjoy being outside. In summer, when it occasionally gets hot, we encourage the children to wear sun hats and ask you to put sun cream on your child before they come to school.
