Young Shakespeare Company

On Tuesday 6th March, Year 5 were lucky enough to take part in a drama workshop with the fantastic Young Shakespeare Company, who performed The Tempest and inspired a new generation of Shakespeare fans! We really enjoyed the wonderful acting and have a much better understanding of Shakespeare’s final play.

Our Year 5 Trip to Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery

On Wednesday 8th November, we journeyed by train to Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery to take part in an Anglo-Saxon Life workshop and explore the incredible Staffordshire Hoard – a collection of over 4000 Anglo-Saxon artefacts! We learnt so much and applied our topic learning.

On Wednesday 20th September, Year 5 enjoyed an amazing experience at Edgbaston Water Sports Centre. We took part in three incredible activities: rock climbing, archery and bell-boating! We built our teamwork skills, our resilience, our determination and our enjoyment of outdoor and adventurous activities. We were extremely exhausted after this trip – and a little bit soggy too!

Year Five have had the incredible opportunity to visit a working dairy farm this week: Mount Pleasant School Farm. They loved meeting the animals and learning all about where our food comes from. Many children overcame nerves around farm animals and interacted wonderfully with nature. We also learnt about sustainable living, as the farm recycles water, food and even sewage!
